A director relocating from Toronto for a nine-month project. A consulting team on a six-month engagement downtown. A new VP arriving in March whose family follows in June, once the school year ends.
None of them want a hotel, and none of them can sign a twelve-month lease. What they need is a proper home — furnished, well located, ready on the arrival date, on a term that matches the assignment.
That's what we place. Executive rentals and corporate housing across Metro Vancouver, from one-bedroom suites in Coal Harbour to family homes in Kitsilano, arranged directly with the company or the individual.

The term gets used loosely, so here's what we mean by it.
An executive rental is a fully furnished home rented on a defined term — usually three to twelve months — to someone in Vancouver for work rather than for a holiday. It sits between a hotel and a lease, and it's the standard solution for relocations, secondments, project assignments and extended business stays.
What's included as standard:
What separates an executive rental from an ordinary furnished unit is usually the standard of finish and the location — buildings with concierge, gym and secure parking, in neighbourhoods where someone can walk or take a short transit ride to a downtown office. Not luxury for its own sake; the difference between a place someone tolerates for six months and one they're glad to come home to.
For a stay of a few nights, a hotel wins. Past about three or four weeks, the maths and the experience both change.
Cost. A downtown Vancouver hotel room at typical corporate rates runs well past what a furnished apartment costs for the same period, and that gap widens every week. Add per-diem meal costs for someone with no kitchen, and the difference on a six-month assignment becomes substantial.
Space. A hotel room is a bedroom. An executive rental is a home with a living room to work in, a kitchen to cook in, and a door between the bedroom and everything else. On a long assignment, that difference shows up in how well the person actually performs.
Family. A relocating employee with a partner and children cannot reasonably live in a hotel for four months. Two adjoining rooms is not a solution; a two or three-bedroom home is.
Stability. One address for the whole assignment. Mail arrives, the person registers with a doctor, children can be enrolled locally, and the assignment feels like living somewhere rather than passing through.
Predictable billing. A single monthly invoice rather than a stream of nightly folios and incidentals.
If you place people in Vancouver regularly, the difficulty is rarely finding a furnished apartment. It's finding a provider who can confirm availability quickly, take a term that isn't twelve months, invoice your finance team in a format they'll accept, and extend when a project runs long — without renegotiating from scratch.
We work directly with HR, mobility and relocation teams across Metro Vancouver:

Location usually follows the office, but these are the areas that come up most.
The default for downtown assignments. Walking distance to the central business district, waterfront and Stanley Park, in buildings with concierge, gym and parking. Premium end of the market, and the most requested by relocating executives.
Converted warehouses and modern towers, close to the seawall and the highest concentration of restaurants in the city. Popular with tech and consulting professionals, and with anyone who wants downtown access without being in the office core.
Between downtown and Stanley Park, and the most walkable neighbourhood in Vancouver. Generally better value than Coal Harbour with the same commute, which makes it a frequent choice when a housing budget is fixed.
Beaches, family housing, good schools, and a short drive or bus ride to UBC and the west side. The usual choice for relocating families and for academic or medical placements.
Minimum term. All of our furnished placements have a minimum three-month stay, in line with local regulations and standard corporate relocation practice. Most executive placements run three to twelve months.
Rates. Furnished executive units command a premium of roughly 15–30% over a comparable unfurnished long-term rental — that covers the furnishings, utilities, internet and the flexibility of a shorter term. In practice, a one-bedroom in a central Vancouver neighbourhood typically runs $3,000 to $4,200 a month, with premium suites in Coal Harbour and Yaletown reaching $10,000 or more. Larger homes and family placements are priced individually.
What affects the number: neighbourhood, size, length of stay (longer terms price better per month), season — summer is tighter across Metro Vancouver — and whether pets are part of the picture.
Billing. We invoice the company directly where that's how you'd prefer it, with clear monthly or per-diem rates formatted for expense and procurement processing. Individual billing is equally straightforward.
Extensions. Assignments move. Tell us as early as you can and we'll extend the term rather than restart the process.
Not every corporate placement wants the same thing, and it's worth being explicit about which one you're solving.
The relocation. Someone moving to Vancouver permanently who needs somewhere to live while they find and buy a home. Usually three to six months, often a family, and the priority is the right neighbourhood and school catchment rather than proximity to the office. Getting this right matters — it's where they'll decide whether they like the city.
The assignment. A fixed-term posting, typically six to twelve months, often a single person or a couple. Location follows the office and the priority is a short commute and a building that makes life easy — gym, parking, groceries nearby.
The project team. Several people arriving together for the same engagement, sometimes in separate units in the same building. Coordination is the whole job here: matching start dates, keeping people close to each other and to the site, and handling it as one placement rather than five.
Tell us which of these you're dealing with and the shortlist looks quite different.
What's the minimum stay for an executive rental in Vancouver? Three months. That's our minimum across all furnished placements, in line with local regulations and standard corporate practice. Most executive stays run three to twelve months, and longer arrangements are possible depending on the property.
Can the company be billed directly? Yes. We invoice companies directly with itemised monthly or per-diem rates in a format finance and procurement teams can process. Individual billing works equally well.
How quickly can you place someone? Usually within days for a single placement, given reasonable flexibility on neighbourhood. Larger homes, family placements and summer arrivals need more lead time — inventory is tighter and moves faster.
Are executive rentals cheaper than a hotel? For stays beyond three or four weeks, generally yes — and the gap widens with time. Add the meal costs of having no kitchen and the difference on a multi-month assignment is significant.
Do you place outside downtown Vancouver?
Yes — Burnaby is our second core market, with inventory around Metrotown, Brentwood and Edmonds. Those two cities are where our furnished portfolio is concentrated. For assignments elsewhere in Metro Vancouver, ask and we'll tell you what's realistic.
What about pets? Often possible, but it narrows the options considerably. Tell us at the first conversation rather than after a shortlist — it's much easier to work with up front.
Can you handle several people arriving at once? Yes. Project teams are a regular part of this work, including placements in the same building where that's useful. Give us the arrival dates and headcount and we'll coordinate it as one placement.
Is this the same as a short-term or vacation rental? No. Executive rentals are residential tenancies of three months or more, which puts them outside BC's short-term rental rules entirely. They're a housing arrangement, not an accommodation booking.
Our furnished and executive inventory is concentrated in Vancouver and Burnaby — downtown, Yaletown, Coal Harbour, the West End, Kitsilano, Metrotown and Brentwood. We manage long-term rentals across the wider Metro Vancouver region, so if an assignment needs a different city, ask and we'll tell you honestly what we can do.
We've been placing tenants across Metro Vancouver since 2013, and corporate placements are among the most straightforward work we do — the term is defined, the requirements are clear, and the person on the other end simply needs somewhere good to live while they get on with their job.
Call 778-317-0752 or email info@mydreamrealtyvancouver.com — tell us the dates, the headcount and where the office is, and we'll come back with what's available.
Executive tenants are, from an owner's perspective, close to ideal — company-backed, short and defined stays, and generally excellent care of the property. They also pay a meaningful premium over an unfurnished long-term tenancy.
Suitable properties are usually well-finished one and two-bedroom units in central or transit-connected buildings, or larger family homes on Vancouver's west side. If you own something that fits, we'll tell you honestly what it would earn.
